We live in a scary world! .... or do we?
There are a million things to be afraid of––and also, there is also nothing to be afraid of.
When I was a kid I read the book Dune by Frank Herbert. In that book there's a thing called the Litany Against Fear. These are the words:
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.
I loved that as a kid, and I had it memorized at one point. For most of my life, when I would feel fear sneaking up in my heart, I would think: "No! Fear is the mind-killer!" and just decide to ignore it and Do The Thing anyway.
But it can be hard to Do The Thing anyway when we feel encompassed by fear.
Fear is a gift to us: it teaches us caution and helps us think clearly about the risks we take. But it can become a problem when it gets out of hand and keeps us from doing the things we need to do in order to accomplish our life missions.
The purpose of this session is to clear out FEAR at the root. This session will heal and repair the "fear pathways," which are the body's ways of processing fear. When the body's fear-processing pathways are blocked up, our fears get blocked up too and they build on each other and can't get out. This is when we can feel overwhelmed with fear and it becomes all-consuming.
When our lives and relationships are becoming hampered by fear, that is a problem. This session will clear that problem.
Time to break out of fear and step into COURAGE!
